Sand in the City

It is so much fun when you can bring your children to an event! Mrs. Washington 2011, Lisa Bluhm invited the contestants to participate in her city's local summer event called Sand in the City. We volunteered to help children make crafts. We made dozens of seagulls, and we were told it was the hardest craft to facilitate! I was very proud of my children whom behaved very well and had a blast. It was a beautiful, warm summer day. Being in Olympia by the waterfront with all the people watching the sand castles being made, was fantastic. There were some serious works of art that day made out of sand....and seagulls!
